At its center is a mother and daughter whose relationship shifts as they adapt to living inside the UK’s first legalised red-light district. Their domestic story unfolds alongside the broader social tensions created by the policy, reflecting the conflicting responses of the surrounding community.

The narrative is interwoven with verbatim testimonies from sex workers directly impacted by the Managed Approach, gathered through interviews conducted by Jules Coyle, who also co-leads the production. These accounts foreground the lived realities of modern sex work and place marginalized voices at the core of the play’s structure. Managed Approach has received five-star reviews during its debut and 2025 run at the Edinburgh Fringe, with support from Keep It Fringe and Gilded Balloon, and was shortlisted for the Pleasance’s Charlie Hartill Award.
