Matthew Bourne ('The Red Shoes', 'Swan Lake', 'Cinderella') and the New Adventures company return their critically acclaimed production of the 'Nutcracker!' to audiences. This adaptation of the famous tale follows orphan Clara from rags to riches in a production taking its inspiration from spectacular Hollywood Musicals of the 1930s. Set to Tchaikovsky’s iconic score and including Anthony Ward’s rich set and costume designs, Bourne's darkly playful choreography tells a remarkable and fantastical tale.

Fluffy, Quirky, Refreshing, Entertaining, Clever

See it if You love dance. This is a fun piece but probably a weaker one of his but still a joy to watch.

Don't see it if You love traditional dance but I would try it anyway!

Bourne’s choreographic style is a pick’n’mix: a bit of ballet, a bit of folky footwork, mime, quirky social dances and exaggerated shapes of his own making, with all sorts of witty references.
