A solo adaptation of Dario Fo’s controversial modern classic, this production explores the absurdities, hypocrisies, and inequalities of contemporary life through the stories of a travelling performer. Originally banned for its irreverent take on organized religion and authority, the piece confronts themes of truth, belief, and manipulation with satirical force.

Performed by Julian Spooner—winner of The Stage Award for Best Performance—and directed by Nicholas Pitt, the show spans dozens of characters and shifting locations. Set against a backdrop of deepening social and economic divides, this updated interpretation presents the storyteller as a modern-day gig worker rushing to his final task: to speak out, alone, and in many voices.
