About the Show

A modern-day thriller about love, violence and control by Abigail Hood.

Teacher, Miss Hastie, finds herself caught up in the pandemonium created by two teenagers, Kaleigh Grey and Zoey Douglas. Despite being warned to stay away from the two girls, Miss Hastie hasn't been able to keep her distance. Meanwhile, a clash between Kaleigh, and her mother Hazel threatens to end in disaster.

This production marks the world premiere of 'Monster' by playwright, Abigail Hood. Kevin Thomlison directs.

Veritas Theatre Company and Kepow return to the Park Theatre following their previous productions 'Spiral' and 'Beneath the Blue Rinse'. This production is recommended for ages 16+.

"Hood basically plants a ton of bombs in plain sight and tells us they will explode later. The message that the brutalised can themselves become brutal feels no less banal for being true. ... Hood can go on to greater things: but this well-meaning show is a terrible botch."
