Vivie has never really known much about her mother, Mrs Warren. She has enjoyed the trappings of wealth, including a Cambridge education, a generous monthly allowance and now has ambitions to study Law.

However, Vivie's world comes crashing down when she discovers that her mother's wealth has come from a life of prostitution ...
