About the Show

The return of intimate candlelit concerts with a string quartet playing songs from hit musicals.

Featuring a repertoire of songs from hit musicals such as 'Les Misérables', 'West Side Story', 'My Fair Lady' and more, 'Musicals by Candlelight' is an intimate 60-minute candlelight concert showcasing the work of legendary musical theatre composers like Andrew Lloyd Webber, Stephen Sondheim, Rodgers and Hammerstein, and more. Each concert will feature a unique set list of songs from across the musical theatre genre.

The Icon Strings Quartet group plays at all Musicals by Candlelight concerts. The group is comprised of award-winning musicians who regularly perform internationally, as well as at prestigious venues and events such as the Proms, Glyndebourne Opera, and the Royal Opera House.

This production is recommended for ages 6+.

For a previous production

An hour is definitely not enough, and I could have sat there for hours. The world-class musicians, who are internationally successful and can be heard on iconic soundtracks such as Downton Abbey and The Matrix are stealing the spotlight in their own show. I wanted to close my eyes but also not miss any moment in the fantastic atmosphere of the Actors’ Church.
