Oliver Twist is an orphaned child who endures a bleak existence in the workhouse before escaping to the streets of 19th-century London. There, he encounters a gang of juvenile delinquents led by the cunning Fagin, falls in with the kind-hearted Mr. Brownlow, and becomes entangled in the criminal exploits of the sinister Bill Sikes and the conniving Monks. Unraveling the mystery of his parentage, Oliver faces adversity, hardship, and unexpected allies as he strives for a better life.
