About the Show

Bren Gosling's drama about love, loss, and belonging as a gay man.

After the death of his mother, Roland decides to live as an openly gay man after 40 years in the closet. He becomes enamoured by Amir, a refugee, after moving to Brixton. However, their relationship is hindered by pervasive identity and mental health issues, as well as their connection to Roland's teenage son.

'Proud' was long-listed for the Radius Playwriting Prize in 2020.

See it if You enjoy physical theatre: the choreography of some scenes is great.

Don't see it if You expect deeply developed characters and a plot that provokes interesting reflection.
