Set in Jewish Essex in 2019, Revenge: After The Levoyah begins at a funeral and quickly spirals into chaos. When twins Dan and Lauren leave their grandfather’s levoyah, they’re approached by Malcolm Spivak—an 80-year-old ex-gangster with an outrageous plan to kidnap Jeremy Corbyn. What follows is a wild, satirical caper blending farce, family tensions, and political commentary, all set against a backdrop of diaspora anxieties and comedic criminal ambition.

The play is written by Nick Cassenbaum, winner of a Fringe First Award and Popcorn Writing Award nominee, known for his innovative and culturally resonant work. Direction is by Emma Jude Harris, recognised as one of The Stage’s Fringe Five of 2024, whose recent credits reflect her flair for bold, character-driven storytelling. Their collaboration delivers a tightly constructed, thematically sharp comedy that balances slapstick action with biting social insight.

Following acclaimed, sold-out runs at The Yard Theatre (2025) and Edinburgh Fringe (Summerhall, 2024), this production comes to Soho Theatre for a six-week engagement.
