About the Show

Satirical musical on Isabel Perón, by Rebecca Biscuit and Louise Mothersole, directed by Ursula Martinez.

This new satirical work follows the remarkable and turbulent story of Isabel Perón, a former nightclub dancer who became Argentina’s president, leading the country through 18 months marked by political instability and personal tragedy. Combining documentary material, live music, comedy, and multimedia elements, the piece explores the intersections of populism, power, and loss.

The production is written and performed by Sh!t Theatre’s Rebecca Biscuit and Louise Mothersole, whose previous collaborations have earned awards including two Edinburgh Fringe Firsts, Adelaide Fringe Best Theatre, and an Off West End Award for Best Performance. Original music is created and performed by the duo, drawing on their signature DIY theatrical style.

Directed by Ursula Martinez (A Family Outing, Free Admission), the production is presented by Judith Dimant for Wayward Productions and supported by the Southbank Centre. Performed at the Purcell Room, Southbank Centre, the staging blends political theatre with irreverent humour, underscored by live performance and visual storytelling.
