The story imagines how their ambitions, personal lives, and creative competition intersected during a period of significant cultural change.

Set against the backdrop of Victorian society, the musical examines themes of identity, fame, and artistic rivalry while drawing connections to the creation of two enduring works of Gothic literature: Dracula and The Picture of Dorian Gray.
