A group of five young girls of color and their white fathers participate in a summer bonding program meant to strengthen family relationships through crafts, outdoor activities, and shared cultural experiences. What begins as a wholesome retreat gradually reveals uncomfortable tensions, as the program’s attempts at cultural celebration raise questions about identity, belonging, and appropriation. As the girls confront growing doubts about the traditions being presented to them, and the perspectives of the fathers guiding them—they must navigate complex emotions surrounding race, heritage, and the meaning of genuine connection.
