Musical play with puppetry based on an award-winning children's book by Lizzy Stewart.
Based on There's a Tiger in the Garden by Lizzy Stewart, the story follows Nora, who is sent outside to play after complaining of boredom. What begins as a search for a tiger in the garden becomes an imaginative adventure filled with giant dragonflies, carnivorous plants, a fishing polar bear, and the possibility that a tiger may really be hiding among the shrubs. The production combines puppetry, original music, and visual storytelling to bring Nora's discoveries to life.
The adaptation is written and directed by Emma Higham, co-founder of Flock Theatre Makers, whose work includes projects with the Royal Shakespeare Company, The Old Vic, Glyndebourne Opera, and Unicorn Theatre. Original music is composed by Freya Wynn-Jones, with design by Laura McEwen and sound design by Lewis Gibson.
Originally premiered by Flock Theatre Makers in 2021, the production has toured extensively across England before its 2026 engagement at Polka Theatre. Created in collaboration with the book's author, the stage adaptation is designed for family audiences aged 3–7 and uses music, puppetry, and imaginative staging to recreate the award-winning picture book on stage.
