A 1937 play of first love, pride, and an Irish town.
The play is set in 1937 in a small Irish town where Nan Bowers and her friends are awaiting news of a highly competitive, life-changing job in Dublin. James Whelan arrives triumphant, having secured the position, and is eager to celebrate with his sweetheart, Nan. However, James is immediately blindsided by the news that Nan is also planning her own departure. The narrative then shifts forward seven years, finding both Nan and James back in their hometown. The central conflict explores whether the pair will be able to overcome the obstacles that separated them and find a second chance at their first love.
