Musical based on the Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler book, with songs by Joe Stilgoe and puppets by Little Angel.
This production is a musical adaptation of the classic children's story by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, detailing the experiences of Zog, a dragon attending Madam Dragon's school. Zog is described as the most enthusiastic but also the most prone to accidents, frequently crashing into trees and inadvertently catching his own wing on fire. His mishaps are consistently tended to by a kind girl who patches up his injuries. The central narrative question revolves around whether the girl can assist Zog with his most significant test, which he must pass to earn a coveted golden star.
The show is a return production from the producers responsible for previous adaptations, Stick Man and Zog and the Flying Doctors. It features original, cheerful songs composed by Joe Stilgoe.
The production incorporates visual elements through beautiful puppets designed and created by Little Angel Theatre (a company specializing in puppet theatre). This family-oriented show is designed to be engaging for both children and accompanying adults.
