Set in 1597, the story follows a Scottish town destabilised by a wave of witchcraft accusations. Margaret Aitken, under threat of execution, claims she can identify witches by a mark on their eyes, becoming an instrument of persecution. As suspicion spreads and neighbours turn on one another, widow Marion Walker challenges the legitimacy of the accusations and seeks to expose the methods of minister John Cowper, whose actions intensify the crisis.

The production is written collaboratively by Roo Berry, Megan Farquhar, Lauren Foreman, and Tia Ray, with music by Ell Thompson and Jake Dufton. Direction is by Evie Kerr, with movement direction by Vivi Bayliss and design by Hayley Rae. The work is produced by VAULT Creative Arts.

Drawing on the historical figures of Marion Walker and Margaret Aitken, the musical situates personal survival within a broader climate of fear and manipulation. The narrative traces how authority, coercion, and public belief intersect in a community where accusation carries fatal consequences.
