It can't be claimed to be one of Walliams' more inventive ideas, and few of the characters venture far beyond stereotype, but nevertheless Billionaire Boy proves an enjoyable family treat.

A storybook written with a younger generation in mind isn’t going to enthrall [adults]. But its continual playing up to pejorative, dated stereotypes cheapens the laughter. It needs more interaction, smiles, and lessons that have 2021 in mind.
