Don Black’s songs and stories take centre stage in a musical celebration.
From The Heart is a concert-style theatrical celebration of the life and work of Oscar-winning lyricist Don Black. Inspired by the New York cabaret scene that influenced his career, the production combines personal stories with performances of both new material and songs drawn from his extensive catalogue for film, television, and theatre.
The show features newly written songs created with composers including Gary Barlow, Natasha Bedingfield, David Arnold, Debbie Wiseman, and Mike Batt, alongside well-known works such as Born Free, Ben, Love Changes Everything, With One Look, To Sir With Love, and As If We Never Said Goodbye. The programme also includes a tribute to Black’s contributions to the James Bond franchise, featuring songs from Diamonds Are Forever, Thunderball, The Man with the Golden Gun, and The World Is Not Enough.
The production stars Clive Rowe, Caroline O’Connor, and Michael Xavier, with a surprise guest appearing at each performance.
