Historical figures from across Britain’s past are brought together in a fast-moving stage production that revisits key moments with a comic perspective. From Boudicca’s rebellion and King John’s Magna Carta to the Gunpowder Plot and Victorian-era characters, the show presents a sequence of short scenes highlighting well-known events and personalities, including darker episodes such as the plague and notorious criminals like Dick Turpin and Burke and Hare.

The production is written by Neal Foster, whose work with the Birmingham Stage Company includes multiple stage adaptations of the Horrible Histories series (including Terrible Tudors and Awful Egyptians). The creative team also includes Jacqueline Trousdale (set and costume design), Jason Taylor (lighting design), and Nick Sagar (sound design).

The staging combines sketch-based storytelling with historical content drawn from the Horrible Histories brand, adapting educational material into a live theatrical format aimed at younger audiences and families.
