Thirteen-year-old Conor and his mother have been able to support themselves just fine since his dad moved to America. But now his mother's fallen gravely ill sick, his grandmother won’t stop trying to help and the kids at school won’t even look at him. Then, one night, Conor is awoken by a monster at his window to trade stories, in exchange for hearing about Conor's greatest fears.
