In this musical based on the classic film, young Dorothy lives on a farm in Kansas where a large tornado picks her up along with her house and dog and deposits them in the strange and beautiful land of Oz. Her house lands on top of the Wicked Witch of the East and kills her, and the Wicked Witch of the West wants revenge, while Dorothy just wants to get back home. The Good Fairy of the North helps Dorothy by telling her how to get to the Wizard. Along the way, she meets a Scarecrow who needs a brain, a Tin Man who needs a heart, and a cowardly lion who needs courage.
