Ambitious, Cliched, Entertaining, Disappointing, Overrated

See it if You enjoyed Jersey Boys, musicals based on a film, violence on stage; pleasant enough for an evening

Don't see it if You dislike mob topics or violence; want to see something thought provoking and deep

Cliched, Entertaining, Dated

See it if you miss Jersey Boys

Don't see it if if you are looking for original or groundbreaking musical theater. Feels like it was written 20 years ago.

Entertaining, Cliched, Disappointing, Great singing, Great choreography

See it if you like stories tied up with a bow at the end. Choreography is frickin' brilliant. Music is excellent. Lyrics are banal, at best.

Don't see it if you were hoping for a well rounded musical. Some of the performances are excellent (male leads), some are painful. Great ensemble.

Funny, Great singing, Fluffy, Cliched, Entertaining

See it if you want to see West Side Story with NYC flair. Highlights: singing, wholesomely funny

Don't see it if you want something unique. Lowlights: cliche

Entertaining, Great acting, Great singing, Deja-vu storyline, Disappointing

See it if you like musicals about gangsters in NYC, doo-wop singing, interracial relationships, parental concerns about mobsters, etc. Very good cast.

Don't see it if you're looking for an original story as this looks somewhat like a combo of West Side Story (with somewhat average songs) and Jersey Boys. Read more

Ambitious, Great acting, Intense, Throwback

See it if Nick Cordero, wonderful book, wonderful staging, superb direction (nuance everywhere), great principal debut by Richard H. Blake

Don't see it if Like an engine that misfires every 15 minutes it never really stays on track; Sporadic brillance all night
