From the show:
From stage to screen, two-time Olivier Award winner Derren Brown has mesmerized millions worldwide with his unique brand of mind reading, persuasion, and psychological illusion. Now, for the first time ever, this U.K. phenomenon and Netflix star brings his talents to Broadway.
After a sold-out, critically acclaimed run off-Broadway at the Atlantic Theater Company, Derren Brown: Secret returns with a spellbinding experience that dares us — in the most jaw-dropping way — to take a closer look at the stories and beliefs that guide our lives. Behold a theatrical event of the mind in this “thrilling spectacle of psychological magic” (Entertainment Weekly). Performances begin September 6 at the Cort Theatre.
See it if you can throw yourself into the experience of mind games — some of which are exceptional — peppered with a few illusions, in a spartan set.
Don't see it if you like flamboyant staging and a lot of physical effects, are highly skeptical, don't have a playful spirit, or want a show with a story.
See it if You want some psychological illusion and don't mind not knowing how he did it; if you like audience participation
Don't see it if You're looking for flashy magic (this is slower); if you need to know answers; if you're too skeptical about illusion
See it if He's a great show man, Very entertaining. Lots of audience participation. Amazing mental tricks. Leaves you in awe.
Don't see it if Not a real play. One man performance w/ audience involvement. Intermission too long.
See it if You want to be wowed with your mouth open at various stages, love magic and/or psychological games.
Don't see it if You can't let yourself go and accept that some people are either fabulous magicians or have real 6th sense abilities.
See it if This performance is completely absorbing and interesting not sure what there is not to like about this
Don't see it if If you don't like psychological magic / Mentalist
See it if you want to try something mildly entertaining.
Don't see it if you are on a limited budget... see something else... this is overrated.
Also An OK evening out, a bit boring.
See it if I'm not generally a fan of magic and illusion, but Brown is charming and funny. Most of his tricks are terrific and the ending is wonderful.
Don't see it if You hate illusionists or really wanted to see a full scale Broadway show.
See it if you enjoy mental parlor tricks delivered with panache by a charming host. If you love being confounded by tricks.
Don't see it if you don't enjoy audience participation, or being hoodwinked.
See it if You've ever been tempted to see a fortune teller to tell you your future.
Don't see it if You're trying so hard to figure out how Mr. Derren Brown does the tricks he does that you don't enjoy the show for what it is: pure fun!

Don't see it if You are not looking for a Las Vegas style shown that is truly amazing! Don't see it if you want a serious look at the world.
See it if you enjoy having your mind bent by a master showman, you want to leave wondering "how did he do that?", you can suspend your disbelief.
Don't see it if you only want to see plays or musicals on Broadway, you are skeptical and can't enjoy being drawn in by a very clever showman, you're stupid
See it if you enjoy mentalists, appreciate the art of the unknown and want to see a performer who has captivated the world, at the top of his craft.
Don't see it if you want to see something more along the lines of traditional magic. Also, the show is show, painfully at times. There is too much talking
See it if you want to see a top-notch mentalist/illusionist and have an enjoyable, entertaining evening out.
Don't see it if if you don't like mentalist/ illusionist or magic show performances.
See it if the tickets are free.
Don't see it if you respect theatre. This isn't a show. There is no plot. Mind reading and magic are BUNK so why bring it to Broadway? It's a cash grab.
See it if You want to be entertained by an adorably witty Brit. You are ok with wondering how he did the "tricks"
Don't see it if You hate magic. You hate middle aged men. You want a splashy broadway show.

Don't see it if you don't like magic/illusion and this kind of entertainment is not your cup of tea.
