Rachel Zegler stars in Jamie Lloyd’s Broadway revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s musical.
Set against the political and social upheaval of mid-20th-century Argentina, the musical follows Eva Perón’s rise from humble beginnings to becoming one of the most influential and controversial figures in the nation’s history. Through her relationship with Juan Perón and her growing public profile, Eva navigates ambition, power and celebrity while becoming a symbol for millions of Argentinians. The story unfolds through a score that includes songs such as “A New Argentina” and “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina.”
This Broadway production stars Rachel Zegler as Eva Perón, reprising the performance that earned her an Olivier Award. The musical features a score by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice. Direction is by Jamie Lloyd, the Tony Award-winning director whose recent productions include Sunset Blvd., A Doll’s House and Betrayal.
Following its acclaimed London run, the production transfers to Broadway for a new engagement in spring 2027. Lloyd’s staging presents a contemporary interpretation of the classic musical while retaining the original narrative and score that have made the work a longstanding fixture of musical theatre.
