Don't see it if you are uncomfortable with frank explorations of controversial topics / you dislike rock musicals.
See it if You like contemporary approaches to musical theatre. Refreshingly relevant update of a work from 1891. Great score, disappointing 2nd act.
Don't see it if You're not mature enough to handle sexual scenes involving teens, you don't like contemporary musicals.
See it if You love Duncan Sheik's score and are in your teens.
Don't see it if You can't stand goofy, melodramatic dialogue...albeit that dialogue ensconced in extraordinarily beautiful music performed by an epic cast.
See it if this was a stunning, moving, difficult piece of theatre worthy of all its accolades. Smart, intense, dark, unforgettable.
Don't see it if Not for young kids. If you can't suspend disbelief for the incongruous modern rock numbers in a 19th century school.
See it if Saw it off then on Bway. New stars John Gallagher, Jr., (Tony award), Jonathan Groff, (Tony nomination), Lea Michele, (Glee). Great score.

See it if Interesting concept. Some parts work better than others. The music is great. The singing is wonderful, the acting is not.
Don't see it if it's bare bones to the bare bones. The story is dated. The new production is way better, more exciting and moving.
