Entertaining, Exquisite, Great acting, Great singing, Masterful

See it if Having seen every NYC production of Sweeney since its original opening, this was by far the best. It was Sondheim's favorite, too.

Don't see it if You don't like Sondheim (impossible to imagine), suspense or counterpoint.

Absorbing, Edgy, Great singing, Great writing, Intelligent

See it if you want to hear Stephen Sondheim's masterpiece. It is a horror story but also has wonderful moments of great humor.

Don't see it if you can't deal with unusual music... or people being murdered and baked into meat pies.

Great singing, Great staging, Great acting, Edgy, Must see

See it if you Stephen Sondheim musicals, if you enjoy radically rethought and revelatory productions of classics, if you love epic performances.

Don't see it if you hate musicals or Sondheim musicals, you are easily confused by non-literal staging or hate John Doyle's approach of actors playing music Read more

Great acting, Great singing, Great staging, Great writing, Profound

See it if You want to see a brilliantly reimagined version of a musical theater staple; you can go back in time to when this was on!

Don't see it if You prefer a full-scale production over an avant-garde simplified one; you don't like meat in your pies.
