About the show

The Grammy, Oscar, Golden Globe, and Emmy-winning entertainer’s life story comes to Broadway in this new musical, featuring her many hits including "If I Could Turn Back Time" and "I Got You Babe." More…

"The Cher Show" is her story, and it’s packed with so much Cher that it takes three women to play her: The kid starting out, the glam pop star. and the icon. "The Cher Show" is 35 songs, six decades of stardom, two rock-star husbands, and enough Bob Mackie gowns to cause a sequin shortage in New York City.

See it if You can’t resist all things Cher.

Don't see it if You want a compelling book. You want more then a bullet point bio musical.

Also There’s a lot of talent on that stage in both performances and design ... Read more Read less

Entertaining, Great singing

See it if Cher's fun; appreciate good entertainment and magic work of singers, costume designers, dancers. Three lady stars of the show-wow.

Don't see it if You want to follow the Wikipedia and to see exact Sher's biography on stage. Just grumpy person, who doesn't like the jukebox musicals

Also "The Dark Lady " tango performed by ASHLEY BLAIR FITZGERALD and ensemb... Read more Read less

Ambitious, Great singing, Funny, Entertaining

See it if You love Cher. Her music is delightful and it was fun to watch and listen to.

Don't see it if You want a cohesive production. Having three versions of Cher on the stage was distracting. I would have liked a different format.

Fun!, Great music, Absorbing, Cheesy, Great costumes

See it if you’re a big Cher fan! Duh! Fans should eat this up. They give us a little bit of everything. Costumes are AMAZING too. God bless Bob Mackie

Don't see it if you have an aversion to jukebox musicals. This probably won’t win you over. It's unimaginative & admittedly hokey, but I still had fun.

Also This isn’t high art but it’s a lot of fun! I admit that the Show-Score... Read more Read less

Great costumes, Great stephanie j. block

See it if you loved Cher's fabulous costumes. See it for Block's amazing performance as Cher. She inhabits the role as if she was Cher.

Don't see it if Cher's music isn't for you, or you do not like bio musicals, or are expecting a thought-provoking story.

Also The book keeps your interest if you already don't know the Cher story.... Read more Read less

Indulgent, Fluffy, Great singing, Entertaining

See it if Cher's life told in song by 3 wonderful actresses. Stephanie J. Block is fantastic. The costumes are beautiful.

Don't see it if Juke box musicals drive you crazy.

Retro, Indulgent, Fluffy, Great singing, Cliched

See it if you are in it for more of a Cher concert than an actual narrative.

Don't see it if the thought of Vegas or Branson makes you cringe. This feels like that.

Clever, Entertaining, Great singing, Fluffy, Delightful

See it if I knew I'd love this. I love Cher. I wasn't expecting it to be so good. It was. Very intelligently done and still SUPER FUN. I'll go again

Don't see it if you don't like Cher.

Great lighting, Great dancing, Great costumes, Confusing, Great singing

See it if You love Cher. you want to see a really great tango number that she has nothing to do with. You want to see a drag show without drag queens

Don't see it if I don’t love Cher, and I liked her less leaving than I did going in. It all was very entitled and self indulgent. But good for its target.

Delightful, Entertaining, Great singing, Great staging, Enchanting

See it if You are a fan of Cher and want to enjoy her music and want to hear some of her life story. The costumes are beautiful😊

Don't see it if You are not a fan of the music of that era or do not like Cher.

Indulgent, Great staging, Banal, Cliched, Disappointing

See it if You want to hear Cher's main hits and learn about her relationship with Sonny. Also the sets and costumes are fantastic.

Don't see it if You are tired of the rushed, and hardly-thought-out plot of jukebox musicals that rush through to get to the songs.

Fluffy, Great singing, Entertaining

See it if you love the music of Cher, & are interested in seeing her life portrayed on stage by three solid leading ladies.

Don't see it if you need much more depth and nuance regarding the telling of Cher's life, and perhaps a more mature telling of that story.

Quirky, Hilarious, Great singing, Entertaining, Absorbing

See it if you love Cher's music and humor, want fantastic costumes and to see a very talented cast.

Don't see it if you are looking for a more serious production. This show doesn't take itself too seriously, much like Cher.

Glitzy, Fun, Shallow

See it if you're looking for a Cher jukebox musical that cranks up all the hits, amazing costumes, great choreography and even decent Cher-like voices

Don't see it if you're looking for sophistication, an honest (and not self-aggrandizing) look at Cher's life and work, expect more than just a pageant show.

Fluffy, Confusing, Disappointing, Entertaining, Cliched

See it if you're a Cher fan, want something light where you already know all the songs, & don't care if the script is pretty lame. It's energetic.

Don't see it if you want a quality libretto free of cliches, stereotypes, & clunky jokes. Stephanie J. Block is amazing & the ensemble works hard. Just ok

Entertaining, Great singing, Great staging, Fun, Delightful

See it if You enjoy Cher and her music as well as want to know more about her.

Don't see it if You only enjoy dry or dramatic plays.

If cheesy and a piece of fluff had a baby it would be called “the cher show”

See it if Cher is your smart-ass idol and anything Cher would delight you.

Don't see it if you’re tired of these flash in the pan biographical musical productions. Who will they resurrect next, the Osmonds?

Also I’m not a big fan of these quick and dirty bios w/large ticket prices ... Read more Read less

Great singing, Great staging, Great costumes, A little creepy

See it if Are a share fan and love Cher glitz.

Don't see it if Just great singing and costumes aren't enough for you. A couple of terrible performances by minor characters. Especially the Lucy Ball.

Entertaining, Great costumes, Cute, Fluffy, Great singing

See it if You love Cher. The show successfully captures her personality, wit and, of course, music.

Don't see it if You don’t like jukebox musicals. You’re expecting anything more than a cute, fun diversion. This is about as deep as her ABBA album.

Also Stephanie Block was on vacation, which was a bit disappointing conside... Read more Read less

Don't see it if not interested in Cher

Entertaining, Funny, Dizzying

See it if you absolutely love to listen to Cher's music. The show is packed with her songs, costumes, and mannerisms.

Don't see it if you want to learn more about Cher than you already know. I left wishing there were fewer songs and more revealing details about her life.

Don't see it if my friend was bummed that the men sing "dark lady" instead of the women.

Delightful, Great acting, Great singing, Great staging, Masterful

See it if you want to enjoy a humorous play about Cher that has wonderful singing and dancing.

Don't see it if you do not enjoy plays with too much glitz and flamboyance.

"The show whirls through six decades at a dizzying pace that disguises, up to a point, that it doesn’t have much to stand on...Cher’s actual hits can’t support that task: They are likeable but skimpy pop ditties. "It’s such a garish, obvious pastiche, such an unabashedly soulless explosion of wigs and trite memoir wisdom, that somewhere in the midst of its overinflated two and a half hours—probably during one of its dips into stodgy, life-lesson-y sentiment between showstoppers—you start to wonder: Is thi...
