About the Show

Dominique Morisseau's new play about two generations of sisters.

Two pairs of sisters from different eras navigate class, race, love and family on Mud Row, in the East End of West Chester, Pennsylvania.

Elsie hopes to advance in the world by marrying into “the talented tenth,” while her sister Frances commits to the fight for Civil Rights.

Years later, estranged sisters Regine and Toshi must come to terms with their shared heritage and with each other, when Regine inherits grandmother Elsie's home.

Relevant, Great writing, Great acting

See it if you want to see a very good production of a very well written play by Dominique Morisseau. All six actors are outstanding.

Don't see it if you want to see a musical or something light. This isn't a very heavy play but it is certainly not a comedy. Read more

Don't see it if You lack tolerance for unfinished work. This is not up to Dominique Morriseau's usual high standard. It needs an edit.
