Original delightful show

See it if You love a tight ensemble with funny ideas in wild costumes. The whole theater laughed and applauded throughout the show. Loved it so much!!

Don't see it if You only like big Broadway shows . But I truly believe the beauty and honesty of the actors in this one will win anybody’s heart!!!

Living bosch, Mystery play, Fevered dream, Quirky, Firmly moored drift

See it if U like the extravagantly odd, like bathing in chant, religious music and morality tales. Enjoy mime, puppetry and ensemble work.

Don't see it if Need to be told what you're seeing, hearing & feeling. Don't like farting set pieces, demons or goats. Can't like tales of the middle ages.

Funny, Quirky, Great staging, Great acting, Clever

See it if You enjoy Monty Pythonesque comedy, don’t necessarily need a plot and appreciate ensemble work and art/history references

Don't see it if You’d like to see a conventional play

Slow, Unique experience, Promising, Entertaining, Great acting

See it if needing a dose of "Medieval Fair" experience - in an assortment of unique vignettes with puppetry, music, and a lot of whimsical characters.

Don't see it if expecting a solid plot & big prodn / set design. Though the stage is bare, the cast & their props fill it in with big entertainment value.

For 75 minutes you will be in medieval times

See it if you would like a historically accurate version of Spamalot stripped down to its pure essence. It's definitely silly and quirky.

Don't see it if you're expecting a narrative play. This is more of a series of tableaux. It's like Laugh-In set in medieval times. Read more

Great acting, Enchanting, Quirky, Delightful, Clever

See it if Want to see a special play, quirky but clever, don’t mind snapshot type of storytelling and not strong plots

Don't see it if Want traditional theater or coherent storytelling

“While Happenstance’s medieval scenarios are charming and beautifully crafted, I came away wishing they had grappled more dynamically with the content from the late medieval paintings that inspired them. However appealing and whimsical, their literal, surface approach to these often allegorical masterworks too often turns away from their rich and terrifying substance.”

"Happenstance should be lauded for never losing its sense of play. Now, if only they could shape it into something that won’t leave our minds the second we exit the theater."

Talkin' Broadway

“Presented as a series of short, often highly entertaining, if puzzling, set pieces...’ADRIFT’ is a decidedly go-with-the-flow sort of production. Enter with that attitude, and you will find much to delight, especially if you are prepared to hum along on cue, pose a question to the diviners, and toss your troubles out to the kindly crone, who will show you how easy it is to discard them.”
