Vanessa Shealy's turn-of-the-millennium comic-drama centers on an innocent American girl, who hopes to escape the failures of her pious father by taking refuge in an intense relationship with a young Nigerian immigrant. But he has family skeletons of his own. Together, their family roots entangle them in a web of fraud and falsehood.

See it if Great, raw, no frills theater at its best. The story pulls you in, the performances ring true, and it's a timely and fascinating story.

Don't see it if You're looking for big sets or costumes or you think theater only happens near Times Square.

Don't see it if You only like to see shows in midtown. This theatre company is located uptown but is worth the travel time.
