Must see for lovers of pride and prejudice, Great writing, Great acting, Clever, Absorbing

See it if you are a fan of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. Very clever version of literature's disreputable villain. Great writing and acting.

Don't see it if you are not familiar with Jane Austen's book. There is good acting but it won't make much sense to you. Read more

Intelligent, Masterful, Great acting, Entertaining, Absorbing

See it if you are a fan of British actors, history and literature; you would enjoy an excellent one man monologue based on a literary character

Don't see it if you have no interest in anything British; you dislike monologues in general.

Great acting, Great writing, Delightful, Entertaining, Enchanting

See it if if the BBC Pride & Prejudice (or really any version) is your jam. What a gift to see Adrian Lukis recreate his Mr. Wickham as an older man.

Don't see it if you hate Austen works.

Cool 60, Monologue, Great writing, Great acting, Entertaining

See it if you want to see Lukis embody Austen’s finest rascal (at an advanced age) engagingly musing on his life for about an hour.

Don't see it if you want a serious play. This is a character study and a delightful romp extending the Austen narrative. Must know Austen’s P&P.

Intelligent, Entertaining, Delightful

See it if you’d like to spend an hour in the company of a charming raconteur as he reminisces about the joys of being a rascal in Georgian England.

Don't see it if you don’t want to see an hour-long, one-character play, or if you’re not familiar with Pride and Prejudice.

"Ever the charmer (and this could be said of Lukis as well as his character), Wickham proves himself to be most agreeable company. As long as you are aware that he is and will ever be an unrepentant ne'er-do-well, you are in for a most enjoyable hour."

"This Wickham is, and proudly asserts himself to be, reliably entertaining company. He’s as good as his word, as good as his many words, as good as his supply of amusing anecdotes."

“Lukis’s superb command of his body as a dramatic instrument, and his split-second change of mood and non-verbal language speak volumes, far more than the script alone can do. He is a consummate actor, whose nuanced gestures and facial expressions vary beat by beat...Lukis and the creative team have breathed life into Wickham, with finesse and sublime artistry.”
