See it if You would enjoy observing a series of child therapy sessions to help a child deal with extreme trauma.

Don't see it if You are looking for a highly polished production. This is definitely rough around the edges. No interest in the methods of play therapy.

Absorbing, Intelligent, Relevant, Resonant, Thought-provoking

See it if you like an intimate theater experience, a good storyline about what might lead a child to stop speaking and want to support local theater.

Don't see it if you only like tourist-y, big productions and/or don't want to be engaged in a story about how a therapist might unlock a child's secrets.

"A mystery story, cleverly crafted to keep us glued to scene after short scene. The solution to the mystery isn’t much of a surprise. In fact, I was a little disappointed...But in this psychological what-done-it, the psychology is smartly conceived and revealed...Hill and his cast make it engaging and effective...Cantisano’s mute performance is a thing of beauty in itself...'Child’s Play' isn’t perfect, but it’s a strong piece of theater on a number of levels."

“Cantisano’s performance as Cindy and her transformation from tortured girl to triumphant young person in control of herself is worth watching. Mercedes Vasquez gives a dynamite performance as a very strong woman who is shutting out her family…Director Brock Harris Hill helps us get into the characters’ heads so we can confront the sensitive, unpleasant truth. This happens at a decent pace, never boring, always making me want to embrace the evolving complexity of the story.”
