Quirky, Must see, Great staging, Great costumes, Great singing

See it if great costume design/somewhat comical; great singing; a shorter performance..

Great singing, Entertaining, Enchanting

See it if a family opera, better than the other holiday offerings for the past 10 years. Accessible to all.

Don't see it if you expect the full version of the opera

Amusing, Sophisticated concept, Clever, Great singing, Entertaining

See it if you're an opera lover. The singing and comic turns are wonderfully preformed. The costumes are hilarious.

Don't see it if you expect the colorful staging & elaborate dancing that add charm to the longer production.

Great singing, Uneven, Absorbing

See it if you want an opera you can take anyone to. Performed in English and only 90 min.

Don't see it if Some of the story got lost on the trimming. A lot of solos for a short opera. Needed more of the interactive parts.

The New York Times

"Critic's Pick!...Trimmed and in English for family friendliness, Massenet’s opera arrives in a boldly stylized staging, starring Isabel Leonard...The production is a delight, with lines from Perrault’s fairy tale written all over Barbara de Limburg’s set and Laura Scozzi’s choreography a deft blend of sleek moves and silliness. The cast (including Jacqueline Echols and Maya Lahyani as the stepsisters) could hardly be better."
