Faced with defamatory attacks from Murdoch's News International newspapers, Member of Parliament Tom Watson resolves to retaliate, confronting the formidable Rebekah Brooks. However, the revelations that emerge surpass his initial expectations in terms of their sinister nature. In a quest led by Watson and a resilient group of journalists, lawyers, and politicians, the play delves into the pervasive criminality entrenched within this media behemoth, a journey fraught with jeopardized careers and, at times, even lives.
