About the show

La Vega Management presents this superhero dramedy about Alex, a comic book artist who has begun secretly dressing up as his creation: El Coquí Espectacular, defender of Nuyoricans! More…

When Alex's brother Joe is fired from a project for not being Puerto Rican enough, the two hatch a plan with the help of a young photographer named Yesica: to debut El Coquí at the Puerto Rican Day Parade and prove themselves to the world! 'El Coquí Espectacular and the Bottle of Doom' examines the ways in which we define our heritage, and ourselves.

Funny, Delightful, Refreshing, Great writing, Entertaining

See it if you love lively and funny theatre that draws from the comic book genre, to tell a story with heart.

Don't see it if you aren't a fan of the comic book or super hero genre.

Intelligent, Refreshing, Entertaining, Fun, A smidge unfocused

See it if you love stories about good vs. evil, creating art vs. selling out, being "hyphen" vs. being American. Its also a very touching family drama

Don't see it if you want a finished product. The production was great, the core story was great, but it was too long and had one too many storylines.
