Not to be confused with, and very much unlike The Emoji Movie, Emojiland is an electric ensemble piece about a diverse community of archetypes who take one another at face value: a smiling face dealing with depression; a princess who doesn’t want a prince; a skull dying for deletion; a nerd face too smart for his own good; a face with sunglasses who can’t see past his own reflection; and a police officer and construction worker who just want to work together. When a software update threatens to destroy life as they know it, Emojiland faces the most fundamental questions a society – and a heart – can face: Who are we? And who matters?

See it if You want to see something silly & light that ends up being surprisingly thoughtful. Strong performances of some good songs. Great costumes.

Don't see it if You can’t lighten up for one evening and just have fun. This is a serious story camouflaged as fluff.

See it if as fun, fluffy, visually entertaining musical w/ great singing, exuberant young cast (occasionally hard to make out lyrics) & timely topic.

Don't see it if you need a meaty story line—this is about having fun, belting out ballads happy & sad, none-too-deep thoughts about tech & press to conform.

See it if You enjoy a big production with bells and whistles, funny costumes and silly humor, all kinds of B’way musical numbers and lights

Don't see it if If you’d like something more serious and important. The music is okay but all big and loud and that’s too much for me.

See it if Cute cartoonish emojis include Nerdface, who falls in love with Smileyface and battles the evil Skull. Excellent, energetic pop vocals.

Don't see it if Silly kiddie story, with a dollop of technobabble, & references to social issues (bullying, immigration). Long for what it is. Read more

See it if You are a fan of any of the stellar cast members. Really amazing vocals in this show. Margherita is amazing as always. Fun story w/ heart.

Don't see it if You aren't in the mood for a show with cartoony characters. There is a nice message and heart to the story. Read more

See it if you want a cotton candy show: bright, colorful, fun to eat, but has no nutritional value. Regardless, a great time!
