Riveting, Masterful, Hilarious, Funny, Entertaining

See it if Loved all the Forbidden Broadway shows. The parodies were sometimes better than the original shows.

Don't see it if If you haven't seen the shows the performers are going to parody. It's not as funny if you don't understand the reference.

See it if you are a Broadway nerd!

Don't see it if you haven’t seen anything in the past 2-3 seasons (e.g. Oklahoma, Dear Evan Hansen, etc). The (very specific) jokes will go over your head!!

See it if You like musical parodies and appreciate smart lyrics and no pulled punches.

Don't see it if Parody isn't your thing. Or you haven't seen half or more of the shows satirized. Read more

"Still finding furiously funny ways to burlesque, spoof, parody, and otherwise make digestible mincemeat of the American musical theatre…'Forbidden Broadway…' ranges on the humor scale from smiles to chuckles to laughs to guffaws. Its humor may be cutting, but why else would it be forbidden?"

"I think of Gerard Alessandrini as a kind of superhero: In a show business world gone mad, you can always count on 'Forbidden Broadway,' his long-running satirical revue, to rise up, phoenix-like, ready to smack down the poseurs and pretenders who would appropriate the Broadway stage for their own nefarious purposes."
