See it if About Germany's during Hitler time and one family's how they face the hardship of during that time. Cabaret singing and dancing.

Disappointing, Amateurish

See it if you enjoy a good story done with poor music and ever poorer lyrics. The story itself was good and with better music and songs could be great

Don't see it if you enjoy good music, singing and lyrics that are not banal. The acting and singing were amateurish. This show had potential to be better.

Banal, Cliched, Disappointing, Indulgent, Dated

See it if You want to be reminded Germany had a great cultural life and a lot of sophistication.....until it didn’t.

“What might have been a dazzling dramatic situation - even with its echoes of so many other plays-is reduced to a plodding script, interrupted by very ordinary songs (albeit, well sung by the hard-working cast). Antin seems blind to being a copycat. Even a touch of same-sex romance and semi-clothed chorus girls, can't raise the pulse of this show. And the unsurprising upbeat ending, despite the tragedy that precedes it, is unconvincing.”

"The serious subject and haunting titular song should provide the basis for a compelling show. But they are undermined by predictable dialogue, trite sing-songy rhymes and rhythms, and groan-inducing attempts at humor...The delivery is slow and stilted and the dance numbers unimaginative...The uneven quality of the present Off-Broadway production fails to live up to the significance of the story and the impact it could and should have."

"The cabaret numbers are very nicely written, arranged, and staged...Londyn's silvery tone and pinpoint emotional focus captivate with gentle power...Hromsco’s strong-voiced portrayal is as graceful and agile as it can be given the material...Antin’s book is too often short on character development...It’s a good tale that begs to be told more fully...Too much of the time the book tells rather than shows. Yet at its best the music and staging combine to take flight."

"The show has all the hallmarks of a vanity production by the cleverest kid in the class, the star of 8th grade: a jejune treatment of a serious story, written with great reverence but a tin ear. An upright piano tinkles fair-to-poor songs. The cast churns out so-so performances with one star turn (the talented and lovely Londyn as Rosie)...Eager, dull choreography and clueless direction miss the mark over and over...It will reward you more to go to a revival of 'Cabaret.'"

"Amy Londyn, who plays Rosie, gives a vivid and soulful performance...The echoes of 'Cabaret,' Kander and Ebb’s classic musical about the rise of Nazism, are never far away...Most of the songs work well with the plot and theme. However, 'To the Beer Hall We All Go,' a number toward the end of the musical, feels out of place...Blowers has cast a highly skilled and talented cast. They deliver the songs and dances with high energy and vibrancy."

“It turns out to be a very interesting new perspective on life during the rise of Hitler in the heart of Berlin…The play, nonetheless, is at its best musically and vocally. The casting for the most part is excellent, and vocally the entire ensemble is spot-on...Londyn makes a phenomenal Off-Broadway debut. She has a beautiful and engaging voice and is charismatic and real in her portrayal of the young cabaret star…She is a joy to watch...Equally engaging is Hromsco as the infatuated Count.”
