Romantic, Great writing, Great singing, Great acting, Absorbing

See it if You love to hear perfect voices singing divine music. Nadine Sierra and Benjamin Bernheim are fantastic. Gounod’s music is beautiful.

Don't see it if You don’t like opera, or long performances- it’s about 3.5 hours (with long intermission)

Feels sort of like a rip-off of west side story :), Great staging, Great singing, Exquisite, Enchanting

See it if You like Romeo and Juliet. Or opera. This is my favorite Met production so far this season.

Don't see it if Not every opera is for everyone, but this one sure is. Unless you detest the source material, it's very worth a trip to Lincoln Center.

Masterful, Delightful, Great acting, Great singing, Great staging

See it if you like grand sets, showy costumes, spectacular singing and a wonderful orchestra bring this well known story to life in a grandiose way.

Don't see it if if you would not like this story told over three and one hours - it is not rushed!

Masterful, Great singing

See it if you don’t want to miss a chance to hear the next great French tenor in Benjamin Bernheim. Sierra and the rest of the cast are all superb.

Don't see it if you can’t tolerate any deviation from Shakespeare, but (spoiler) a modification to the final scene makes dramatic sense.

Great acting, Great singing, Romantic

See it if Wonderful lead duo, beautiful costumes, a classic well told

Don't see it if You want surprises. It’s the classical story that we all adore (albeit minor changes in the opera version to allow for the well loved duets)

Absorbing, Ambitious, Romantic, Great singing, Entertaining

See it if You’re a fan of the classic. While this is updated ever so slightly it feels time tested. Nothing new to see here…is that a good thing?

Don't see it if You’re looking for something new or something different. Also the scenic design and lighting left me wanting for more. Very…average.

Masterful, Great singing, Enchanting

See it if you love interpretations of Shakespeare; soaring arias

Don't see it if you dislike French opera or have a more rigid view on adaptations
