A solo work tracing one woman’s life across travel, family duty, and near-death encounters.
Written and performed by Iris Bahr, this solo piece traces a series of literal and figurative brushes with death across different stages of her life. The narrative moves between her divided childhood in the Bronx, periods of global backpacking, and a return home marked by caregiving for both her child and her mother. As past and present intersect, the story examines movement, responsibility, and personal reckoning through lived experience. Drawing on Bahr’s background as a performer and storyteller, the play charts a life shaped by travel, family bonds, guilt, and ongoing transformation.
