Sweet, Entertaining, Funny, Charming musical comedy

See it if You like musicals, and want to see Sutton Foster in a truly great performance. While the rest of the cast is superb, she carries the show.

Don't see it if You want something edgy or modern. This is well within the musical theater canon, and a strong production of a charming and fun show.

Confusing, Entertaining, Great singing, Raunchy, Funny

See it if you really love Sutton Foster (who was great), if you enjoy being close to the performers, or if you want to watch something fun.

Don't see it if you love elaborate sets and costumes, if you want a happily resolved ending, or if you don't like a protagonist who is optimistic and naive.

Entertaining, Great singing, Disappointing, Great acting, Overrated

See it if You're a Sutton Foster fan and if you appreciate a great score performed well despite the all-too-typical severe orchestral reduction.

Don't see it if You expect a major staging with outstanding production numbers (as they were in the original) and you want to be transfixed by the lead. Read more

Entertaining, Delightful, Funny, Disappointing, Must see

See it if you love Sutton Foster and you're OK with seeing a production that mostly works. It also helps if you love this show.

Don't see it if you love this show and know it well and it would bother you to see it hampered by a smaller production and some weak direction/choreography. Read more

Absorbing, Delightful, Entertaining

See it if You want to see Sutton Foster in a smaller venue. Absolutely worth it. She brings a layered charm to Charity, beyond most performers.

Don't see it if You just aren't that interested in the show, regardless of Sutton. A lot feels dated and her man-crazed behavior can be nauseating at times.
