New York Deaf Theatre presents an adaptation of Shakespeare's bloody revenge tragedy told exclusive through visual and physical theatrical elements, no dialogue.
Said to be the Bard's most violent play, 'Titus Andronicus' examines the decay of Rome, and a ruler who is left exhausted by war and loss after relinquishing power. NYDT's adaptation features no spoken English or American Sign Language, and therefore is accessible for deaf, hard-of-hearing, and hearing spectators alike.
