About the show

The Inwood Shakespeare Festival presents a free outdoor mounting of what many believe to be the Bard's earliest play, a romp with star-crossed lovers, cross-dressing, betrayal, intrigue, clowns, and a real dog! More…

'Two Gentlemen of Verona' is a pastiche of comedy, romance, and melancholy about the adventures of two pals: Valentine and Proteus. When Proteus falls in love with his best friend's girlfriend, the two men find themselves torn between the bonds of male friendship and romance. Presented for free in Inwood Hill Park.

See it if You want to check out something silly by the Bard in a setting that can't be beat. Beautiful park. Great view. One female sap. Two dogs!

Don't see it if You're expecting a high production value show. The acting is overall good and there's some fun bits out it's no Delacorte Theater.

High-energy, Funny, Summer fare

See it if You want a straight-up, blankets-and-picnic Shakespeareance done capably and with great audience appeal

Don't see it if You dislike sitting on the ground, prefer your Shakespeare to be tidy and contained

Delightful, Funny, Romantic, Refreshing, Great writing

See it if You love a clever twist, a light Romantic comedy and Shakespeare

Don't see it if Just go see it

Delightful, Great acting, Must see, Great staging, Intelligent

See it if You love Shakespeare and a beautiful outdoor setting

Don't see it if You don't like the great outdoors
