Great singing, Great acting, Ambitious, Innovative, Promising young writer

See it if You want to see a strong early work by Julia May Jonas, a playwright I expect we're going to be hearing a lot from in the coming years.

Don't see it if You can't stand Christian religion being mocked or questioned. Or if you don't like innovative approaches to theatrical narratives. Read more

Church youth group gets randy

See it if Youth group pastor and teens try to focus on faith, but sex gets in the way. Play is a romp structured as parts of a year's church services

Don't see it if Talented actors. Cole Doman starred in the wonderful film "Henry Gamble's Birthday Party" with similar theme of imposing religion on teens

Entertaining, Ambitious, Great acting, Great singing, Absorbing

See it if You're interested in a sometimes modern sometimes sinful approach to teaching the bible. Some gorgeous vocals are more than worth your time.

Don't see it if You take religion seriously & piously. There's a bit of biblical adultery going on here that might be offensive, also some funny scenes.

"It's terrifyingly clever, especially because centering 'Your Own Personal Exegesis' primarily on older teens also allows the play to still function effectively as a comedy."

"In the end, it doesn't really matter if 'Your Own Personal Exegesis' is based on real events or not...The seemingly random nature of God's mercy is awesome and terrifying."
