A reworking of Greek myth that stages a power struggle between Jocasta and Antigone.
This contemporary play reimagines Sophocles’ tragedy by centering Jocasta in a reconfigured version of the myth. A chorus made up of thinkers from across history intervenes in the narrative, reshaping events and placing Jocasta on the throne in direct opposition to Antigone. Their intervention reframes the classical story as a confrontation between mother and daughter, challenging inherited structures of authority and authorship. As disagreements within the chorus intensify, the revised myth unravels into escalating conflict, leading to an unexpected resolution that reconsiders how these stories are told and by whom.
