Delightful, Great acting, Refreshing, Enchanting, Must see

See it if you like Shakespeare that is refreshing and so well-acted that it is very easy to understand.

Don't see it if you like rigid adherence to the original Shakespeare more than character development. Read more

Engaging, Funny, Swift, Human, Stripped-down

See it if you’d like to see a stripped down, funny, elemental production of 1 of Shakespeare’s signature romantic comedies.

Don't see it if you need elaborate sets or require aesthetic distance from the performers: here you & the actors are occupying the same milieu. Read more

Clever, Delightful, Entertaining, Masterful

See it if U R a Shakespearean fan. Like kool venues & clever staging Southern twangy music Great singing & acting Fun time. Cast is friendly and fun

Don't see it if Not interested in trying new theater experiences & off-beat venues. Have a problem with Shakesphere being unique & fun or an all female cast

Delightful, Great acting, Great singing, Quirky

See it if you want to see a nicely edited, fast-paced, fun version of the play, acted by talented women. Also if you enjoy music with your Shakespeare

Don't see it if you are unable to sit on "cushioned" folding chairs. Also if you don't like Shakespeare or are a purist. Or don't like to have fun.

Delightful, Entertaining, Funny

See it if Stripped-down, fun performance packed with humor and solid live music. A bit like attending a Nickel Creek concert. Highly recommend it!

Don't see it if No huge complaints- the script cuts were maybe too severe, and the performance perhaps didn't hit the play's full range.

Don't see it if you only like traditional WS, altho he'd approve of HID's lively, funny version. I was engaged every moment, and laughed often. Bravo, HID!

A Work Unfinishing
July 23rd, 2018

"Another tight, terrific, and tuneful comedy from the Hamlet Isn't Dead crew...Laws achieves a sweet and joyful condensing of the comedy, keeping Rosalind at the center as the unassuming mastermind of much of the goings on in a place she barely knows. This cast is composed entirely of women or gender nonconforming actors, and every last one of them is a delight."

“'As You Like It' invites serious dramaturgical meddling, which can either perform disastrously or, as in the case of Hamlet Isn't Dead's all-female summer production, can illuminate Shakespeare's themes...It seamlessly trims Shakespeare's fat...The diverse cast is uniformly excellent, and it's a relief to see women of every ethnicity and body shape shine in comic turns and heartfelt moments...Fantabulous music composed by Joy and performed by the whole cast.”
