A cabaret explores fame, legacy, and the myths surrounding the 27 Club.
Set in a surreal version of the legendary "Club 27," this cabaret follows a charismatic host as she guides audiences through a dreamlike world where music, celebrity, and mortality collide. Joined by an enigmatic pianist, she reflects on the pressures of artistic ambition, the pursuit of fame, and the legacies left behind by performers whose lives ended at the age of 27.
Written by Maeve Z. O'Connor and inspired by interviews with nightlife personality Faith Pasch, the production blends theatrical storytelling with newly orchestrated songs associated with artists including Janis Joplin and Amy Winehouse. Through music and conversation, the show examines creativity, identity, and the enduring mythology surrounding iconic musicians.
