A dark comedy about an unlikely friendship with ties to a national tragedy.
Set in New Haven in 1980, Falls for Jodie follows John Hinckley Jr., who arrives at the Colony Inn with plans to pursue actress Jodie Foster. There, he meets Eddie, the hotel’s night concierge, who is also pursuing a Yale student who does not know he exists. The two form an unlikely partnership when Eddie offers to help John make contact with Foster in exchange for an investment.
As their friendship develops, their shared romantic obsessions take increasingly troubling turns. Written by Eric Micha Holmes, the dark comedy examines loneliness, fixation, and the ways an apparently ordinary pursuit of love can escalate toward violence and tragedy.
