Grotesque dark comedy about siblings, grief, and buried secrets, reimagined by OBIE-winning Hoi Polloi.
In this early work by Oscar-nominated writer Celine Song (Past Lives, The Materialists), three half-siblings gather after their father’s death, only to become locked in a macabre struggle over what lies hidden beneath the floorboards. As their conflict escalates, the play morphs into a surreal, unsettling parable, exploring deeper fractures within the American psyche.
The production is staged by OBIE Award-winning company Hoi Polloi, known for works including Winning is Winning and White on White. Originally presented in a site-specific staging in 2024, this new version has been reimagined for La MaMa’s unique architecture, amplifying the play’s psychological intensity and grotesque undertones.
