Intense, Great staging, Great singing, Thought-provoking, Entertaining

See it if great singing & dancing with a migrant theme peeks your interest. True, sad & sometimes disturbing displays of courage & perseverance.

Don't see it if you prefer getting social political information about the US migrant situation in a non-musical format.

4/5 Stars "It's refreshing that 'Fandango' is not solely a sob story...The characters have dreams and desires that go beyond the difficulties they face...The dialogue sometimes slips into exposition or didacticism...'Fandango' teaches its lessons best when it targets our hearts, not our heads."

"'Fandango for Butterflies (and Coyotes)' never quite coalesces as drama, but it takes unerring aim at one's heart. It also stands as a devastating refutation of the current administration's disingenuous presentation of immigrants as criminals and miscreants."

"ICE raids, harrowing border crossing journeys and transferring money home are depicted in the rousing and moving play. It's derived from undocumented Latin American immigrants' stories of why they left their countries and of their lives in the United States."
