Intense, Great staging, Great singing, Thought-provoking, Entertaining

See it if great singing & dancing with a migrant theme peeks your interest. True, sad & sometimes disturbing displays of courage & perseverance.

Don't see it if you prefer getting social political information about the US migrant situation in a non-musical format.

See it if You enjoy seeing shows with a heart, above all else. You enjoy actor musician musicals. Enjoy hearing more than one language on-stage!

Don't see it if You dislike musicals that feel a little like a conceived musical. Dislike musicals that feel like they're trying to educate. Read more

4/5 Stars "It's refreshing that 'Fandango' is not solely a sob story...The characters have dreams and desires that go beyond the difficulties they face...The dialogue sometimes slips into exposition or didacticism...'Fandango' teaches its lessons best when it targets our hearts, not our heads."

"'Fandango for Butterflies (and Coyotes)' never quite coalesces as drama, but it takes unerring aim at one's heart. It also stands as a devastating refutation of the current administration's disingenuous presentation of immigrants as criminals and miscreants."

"They talk of their hardships, and express their fears. But what's freshest is their joy. With a superb cast of performers and musicians, the show is only really thrilling when the seven characters recreate the tradition of son jarocho… and sing the beautiful original songs."
